it is amazing how america forgets its history. we are a country started upon revolution. we were once the "terrorists". we were oppressed by the world powers at the time and we rose up and won our freedom. now we are the oppressors. now only with more accessible propaganda at its disposal. War is for money, power, and land. I support those domestic and abroad who are against this tyranny. the best way to overcome this horrendous chapter of history is by peaceful protest and letting the people know the truth. if this does not prevail i fear for those in power. because the people will rise again. one way or another.

if you look at it "good" and "evil" if you can really call them that are relitive to your situation. not that im supporting them, but, terrorists think that they are doing the right thing, and even though i hate bush maybe he was trying to do good in his own fucked up little way. using someones words is not nearly as powerful as your own, but sometimes people beat you to the punch. yes, people are hipocratic and talk about things that theyve helped along themselves, but they could have had a change of heart. because if you look back at your own life im sure that you will see times where youve changed your position so much its mind numbing. were all just trying to do whats best. but we dont know best. so calm down and make more art.
Well I guess I will contribute to these 123 comments..

you all have too many rules and regulations for the "freedom of speech", which has never truly existed. stop wasting your time saying whats right and wrong under a "right" that isn't practiced. we are all too sensitive, and much too immature for any right such as that.
-- b, 2008-08-09
I have heard many opinions about what freedoms are being preserved with these actions etc etc, and I just want to add some reality to all those who believe that.
I am a Canadian who has lived worked and traveled all over Asia for the last 11years and I can tell you that freedom of expression and tolerance has been lost due to this war. All the dictators have used this terrorism BS to oppress any freedom that existed prior to America’s great expansion, and please do not, for one minute, think freedom has been gain. YOU can not show me one country where freedom and human rights have been gained. So please stop this stupid talk about freedom - it is an American con that you have been brought up with.
Iran is a perfect example where Americas meddling has not only created a lot of problems, but it has also created such a backlash that any Iranian groups who might have been able to express themselves freely have now been silenced, and any woman who use to be able to do as she would like has been silenced - so please do not talk about winning freedom. The only freedom I see in Iran is America’s freedom to using chemical weapons on innocent people with no accountability to those criminal actions _ yes you can pretend that was Saddam, but you know the truth.
Even today the USA has simple executed a 1/4 million innocent Iraqis and left the world a worse place to live - NOTHING more. And I am not sitting in my cozy American living room writing this _ I am one who has lived and experienced what America has done to the world. America and Americans are as delusional as Chinese are from their govt’s propaganda. America is nothing more than a front for multinationals and big biz to promote their own interest.
The pleasant thing to know is that America is on the way out. Of course China will do no better, but just knowing that America is going to wake up one morning and see that it is all an illusion is a pleasant thought.
How many world trade centers do you think Muslims will have blow up to equate the ¼ million innocent victims that America( terrorist) have kills in the name of freedom? How many died in the world trade act. 4000? So that means the Muslims should blow up another 70 world trade centers before they are equal..
So do expect it to happen to a tower near you and please do not blame anyone other than yourself for being so narrow minded and ignorant of what your actions truly do to so many innocent people. Bringing freedom to the world – are you joking????
What freedoms does America have when its president can lie and cheat and kill 250000 people and still smile and get away with it – is that freedom? Freedom to kill nothing.

i agree. people make war in order to have a leagal/political excuse to kill people they disagree with or simply dont like. its cowardly and pointless. you'd think that by now, humans would be sufficiently evolved to practice dialouge and peace--i guess some people just missed that link in the chain...

Einstein is the most brilliant mind of all time.
-- Charlie, 2007-07-22
You know, Einstein is credited with thousands of neat quotes. About 10% of which he actually said or wrote. I spose we need an all-purpose famous name for all the ideas which 1) occur to us or 2)we're to freakin' lazy to actually look up the real source of or 3) blummis nov shmoz ka pop.

-- Grey, 2007-06-22
Hey Dessira, I didn't know it was going to be used is not an argument, it's and excuse. Besides, the Japanese had ALREADY surrendered to the Chinese before the bomb was dropped. And even partial responsibility is responsibility. Just having a small part is still compliance. Why don't you stop pretending to be so righteous. Your opinion is NOT fact.

-- Nes, 2007-06-21
I love this. I think, to appreciate this, you need to understand that Einstien was both wise and intelligent enough to know what he'd done when he saw the use the bomb was put to. I don't think he'd want it to be used in that way again.

there is a simple truth here, not one to even bring on a debate!
it simply says that just because you join 'an army' and fight a'war' doesnt make you immune to the charge of being a murderer when you MURDER someone. i agree totally, how silly is it to think that personal responsibility is somehow put on hold because you were wearing a uniform....ridiculous!

-- dad's in iraq, 2007-06-16
The idea of the photo, and the quote, was to stimulate thought and discussion about the killing sanctioned by war. Einstein argues that murder, which we all agree to be injust, is akin to war in that it is all killing, all death, and all injust.
-- tentative, 2007-06-15
that s certainly right. if there s a war let the soldiers fight.no need to kill innocent people
-- bellatrix, 2007-06-14
i think he said this after he made the bomb - so he was speaking from experience. and by the way, just in case you think the a bomb was his fault - if he hadn't made it, the nazi's would have: he was just one step ahead.
-- jamie, 2007-06-14
Lovely quote. And on that note, if Einstein is evil because he helped build the atomic bomb that helped end on of the most horrid wars in recorded history? Is he evil? No, later in life Einstein and all of the other men involved in the A-Bomb expressed deep regret at what they had done. They were not told that the bomb was actually going to be used...and Einstein only played a PART in the making there were others as well. Get your facts straight before you curse a man's name. Ohand another man who worked on the A-Bomb the father of NASA and other space exploration societies, Werner von Braun, so is he evil too? His role was larger then Einstein's but since you've never heard of him he's not "evil" eh? Bullshit. Leave you comments to yourself if you don't know what your talking about. Your sad excuse for a history class does not teach you everything!
Did he say this before or after he suggested building the most powerful weapon the world had ever seen?

Einstein did not encourage the developement of nuclear weapons. He was tricked into writing that letter by people who said that if he did not Nazi Germany would develope them first.
-- J, 2007-04-15
Ok something’s wrong here in the comments. So many people are talking about crime. The person who wrote this was talking about war and murder why are so many talking about vandalism, its certainly better than most graffiti. Second who are these children talking bad about Einstein and someone said hippies as if were still in the sixties it seems like these people need a history book or haven't grown up. To the losing side no the conservatives did not write this so please don't say you did. America is tired of senseless wars to take out people we put in the dictatorship in the 1980s who had nothing to do with 9/11. We well bushes party mostly put Sadam in power in 1982 to deal with the OPEC nations now what excuse can we make up to get him out because he doing something of the something? Living in ones self interest is a powerful force able to create wealth but intemperate greed will lead to a world no moral human would desire to inhabit. Once greed is the paradigm of a country those who posses the wealth will use any means necessary to maintain their lifestyle at the expense of any and everything. It will be impossible for social mobility to exist as all resources will be spent to protect the family of those who posses the wealth. I sometimes ask, has this nightmare started and if it has is it possible to stem the tide of an awesome force contrary to the teachings of any religion including the prominent faith in the US, Christianity. Jesus taught humility, generosity, kindness and love. Our leaders who claim to be Christians are filled with greed, hatred, hubris, and hate. “Bring it on” “dead or alive” “tax cuts” are not words that would escape the lips of Jesus.

-- Jason, 2007-11-26War is cowardly and pointless. So we should never have stopped the Nazis, and doing so was pointless.
-- prrptt, 2007-11-24Boy, I wish we all knew some stuff.
-- mm, 2007-11-19i don't think this is either naive or out of context. the us is the most war-mongering country of all. the guises under which the US is at war with now (yes, PLURAL) are a rue. the terrorist is the US government.

Did someone say that the President was stupid or something? What a bunch of lefties.
-- rooofer, 2007-08-26well my commet isnt about the thing picture that is posted but i also found a picture that said "ONLY WHEN THE POWER OF LOVE IS GREATER THAN THE LOVE OF POWER WILL THE WORLD KNOW PEACE"
-- Aaron, 2007-08-13i agree. people make war in order to have a leagal/political excuse to kill people they disagree with or simply dont like. its cowardly and pointless. you'd think that by now, humans would be sufficiently evolved to practice dialouge and peace--i guess some people just missed that link in the chain...
-- morning, 2007-08-09Yes, there's a difference. Can't we just leave it at that?
-- Jared, 2007-08-07damn, all those british soldiers murdered just so you could have the right say whatever you want on here.I guess after centuries of wars and killing we'll quit after hearing from all these enlightened people posting here. W/E.
-- Terry, 2007-08-01Same as war due to religion! No religion ask the follower to kill others. And most of the leaders are using religion for their excuse even though the real agenda behind it is politic.
-- Rasidin, 2007-07-23Einstein is the most brilliant mind of all time.
-- Charlie, 2007-07-22You know, Einstein is credited with thousands of neat quotes. About 10% of which he actually said or wrote. I spose we need an all-purpose famous name for all the ideas which 1) occur to us or 2)we're to freakin' lazy to actually look up the real source of or 3) blummis nov shmoz ka pop.
-- Einstein Redux, 2007-07-16einstein was the greatest mind to have lived in the modern age
-- andy, 2007-07-13Well, in the sense that "dead is dead" I guess that would be correct. Real heavy, he said sarcastically.
-- Captain Obvious, 2007-07-10Please send a copy of this Einstein quote to Bush and his henchmen in the White House...but be sure to translate the long words for them first.
-- Lord Pongo, 2007-07-07We have the power to be kind to each other and to deal fairly with each other. After that, peace will follow.
-- Frances Altman, 2007-07-03Killing under the cloak of war is nothing short of suicide. We have the power to destroy our entire world, a power that we did not have just a century ago. We should be more responsible with it, and more careful.
-- Chri$, 2007-06-27when the power of love will take over the love of power, then the world will know peace
-- jimi hendrix, 2007-06-25Indeed. There's an excelletn Voltaire quote about this...can't remember it off hand, but it's there.
-- Grey, 2007-06-22Hey Dessira, I didn't know it was going to be used is not an argument, it's and excuse. Besides, the Japanese had ALREADY surrendered to the Chinese before the bomb was dropped. And even partial responsibility is responsibility. Just having a small part is still compliance. Why don't you stop pretending to be so righteous. Your opinion is NOT fact.
-- ..., 2007-06-21Thats the kind of stuff I've always wanted to do...leave anonymous messages, that people are forced to read, that hold truth. ^_^
-- Nes, 2007-06-21I love this. I think, to appreciate this, you need to understand that Einstien was both wise and intelligent enough to know what he'd done when he saw the use the bomb was put to. I don't think he'd want it to be used in that way again.
-- Imagination is more important than knowledge., 2007-06-21thats one way to look at it.
-- max, 2007-06-21very true... respect
-- tylor, 2007-06-21there is a simple truth here, not one to even bring on a debate! it simply says that just because you join 'an army' and fight a'war' doesnt make you immune to the charge of being a murderer when you MURDER someone. i agree totally, how silly is it to think that personal responsibility is somehow put on hold because you were wearing a uniform....ridiculous! should make you think twice about joining an army in the first place, men playing games!!!...the mind boggles.
-- yesiam, 2007-06-20i think you all need therapy.

Good grief people, keep religion out of discussions of morality. They are two separate issues even though you'd like them to be the same.
-- paganmom, 2007-06-17hey, 'ray' - we're all on the losing side right now!
-- dad's in iraq, 2007-06-16The idea of the photo, and the quote, was to stimulate thought and discussion about the killing sanctioned by war. Einstein argues that murder, which we all agree to be injust, is akin to war in that it is all killing, all death, and all injust.
-- tentative, 2007-06-15that s certainly right. if there s a war let the soldiers fight.no need to kill innocent people
-- bellatrix, 2007-06-14i think he said this after he made the bomb - so he was speaking from experience. and by the way, just in case you think the a bomb was his fault - if he hadn't made it, the nazi's would have: he was just one step ahead.
-- jamie, 2007-06-14Lovely quote.

-- Bill, 2007-04-27love this photo.
-- Delilah, 2007-04-26This is really just a nod to Einstein's position and opinion on war. Einstein was a devoted pacifist. Whoever wrote it was probably an Einstein fan.
-- Mike, 2007-04-23close minded idiots: THIS APPLIES TO BOTH SIDES OF A WAR...both the one who initiates and the one who must defend themselves...dumb people
-- MamaBear, 2007-04-15Einstein did not encourage the developement of nuclear weapons. He was tricked into writing that letter by people who said that if he did not Nazi Germany would develope them first.
-- J, 2007-04-15Ok something’s wrong here in the comments. I think we've all heard it.
-- Laketake, 2007-04-13First post..
-- Mat, 2007-04-13what is an adulterous philanderer?
-- i dunno, 2007-04-13idk if that is an actual einstein quote, but he urged the U.S. to develop nuclear weapons in their beginnings
-- zach, 2007-04-13The vandal is saying that crime is still crime whatever the situation or reason. However he has still vandalised someone's property and that is still a crime as Einstein's quote proves.
-- i don't know, 2007-04-13Wow .
-- Joana, 2007-04-12If I was about to be murdered, I wouldn't give shit what kind of dead I'd be. Respect for life rules out any kind of murder. It's that simple. (Simple. Not easy.)
-- randvad, 2007-04-12one man's patriot is another man's terrorist. comparing crime to murder is ridiculous. You can't compare something as broad as crime, to something as definite as murder. By your "logic" revolution would be impossible as, crime is crime, not matter what right? wrong.
-- think twice, 2007-04-11BLAH BLAH BLAH. Talking heads = worthless
-- Jim, 2007-04-11funny how the vandal and people who think this is vandalism seem to be saying the same thing here, a crime is a crime regardless of the circumstances or motivations.
-- "understanding is a virtue", 2007-04-05Living in ones self interest is a powerful force able to create wealth but intemperate greed will lead to a world no moral human would desire to inhabit.
-- Thoughtful, 2007-04-02War is money, but no matter what amount of money war brings to the pockets of some, it is not equal in value to one life taken away.
-- Faisal, 2007-04-01Men and culture have begun to clash. The youth are supposed to lead, yet we look to the past!
-- Jim Patterson Wv, ATL GA, 2007-03-23Oh come on! I don't think the point of it was about vandalism. If it's not something vulgar or rude it shouldn't matter. I believe that this is actually helping some people come to the truth; and this statement is very truthful.
-- Amy, 2007-03-20Yes. But he did just mumble that? What was the context of the quote? Context is important.
-- Juan, 2007-03-18Einstein was an adulterous philanderer. He may have been brilliant in mathematics, but his grasp of morality was nebulous at best.
-- Rustmonster, 2007-03-14This was obviously written by someone on the losing side! -- Ray, 2007-02-01 There is no winning or losing side in war both sides have lost far too much. Just look at all the young soldiers who have been buried or forever horribly disfigured.
-- Shannon, 2007-02-11you said it skamama
-- kenz, 2007-02-10Only the complete truth. The people who hate it are the ones too ignorant to accept the truth.

-- Jim, 2007-02-08odd how people who see it as vandalism come to this site. "written on the city", people!
-- skamama, 2007-02-06i love it, to me its not vandalism. i love it when people grafiti in cities. as long as its not vulgar or distasteful, it adds character. Love
-- Sheena, 2007-02-05if it's public property, and accrding to your logic, then surely people have the right to have their wall NOT graffitied?
-- sam, 2007-02-05i agree.
-- L., 2007-02-04james, this is public property. it belongs to everyone. at a time when the president refuses to listen to anyone and has the right to arrest anyone under the guise of suspected terrorism, writing messages on public walls is an act of courage.
-- leah, 2007-02-02i love freedom of speech, however this is a violation of whoever's property, unless it's the spray painter's property, this act is criminal
-- james, 2007-02-02hell you could say "destroying things under the cloak of freedom is no different than destroying something without a reason"
-- jared again, 2007-02-02Vandalism is a crime. Im all for free speech and what. And i also find spray painting to be really cool if i lived in a city id probably be out there doing it. But dont make it something that its not, destroying something thats not yours is criminal no matter how great the result of your destruction is.
-- jared, 2007-02-02you're right Jake, freedom of speech is a crime these days.
-- alex, 2007-02-01Notice that the vandal who shared this message didn't have the courage to sign his own name and take credit for committing this crime.
-- Jake Atencio, 2007-02-01a soldier is a hired gun
-- jenny, 2007-02-01Such a simple message of peace. Such an obvious truth. Einstein's real beauty was not in his physics, but his philosophies of life that allowed his physics.
-- Wade, 2007-02-01This was obviously written by someone on the losing side!
